Politics & Guns: They will never leave us alone

The Democrats are furiously manipulating the levers of government today in much the same fashion as they did in order to pass ObamaCare. Different details, but the deviousness is the same.

Standing against that we have Sen. Mitch McConnell, whose chin you can almost still see quivering in the shot, above. Did any face ever give you less assurance that he would fight for you?

I am worried. Since I reside in Californa, urging Senators Feinstein and Boxer to stop Harry Reid's current manipulations regarding Senate Rules and the filibuster is pis-- ....er, pointless.

But if you are within the reach of my voice, and have a conservative senator, call them now and tell them to stop Harry Reid from changing the Senate Filibuster rules. More, including an interesting video, after the jump.

Here's the skinny: A filibuster is a parliamentary device that permits a single member to hold up potential legislation so that it cannot be sent to committee. Remember the committees during ObamaCare? The one they used to "reconcile" differences to the degree that the legislation did not arise in the correct chamber, but no one cared? Those committees.

It's all tiresome, inside baseball. And yet it is seriously threatening your Second Amendment Rights. Politicians love these kinds of shenanigans because it can shield them from actually making unpopular votes on a given piece of legislation that gets rectified outside their view.

We thought, we were certain, that ObamaCare couldn't get through. But it did. It is the law of the land, today.

Don't count the worst out, my friends.

Here is the list of what New York Democrats wanted, but were prevented from enacting. It reflects what Democrats in Washington want imposed at a Federal level:

1. Confiscation of "assault weapons"
2. Confiscation of ten round clips
3. Statewide database for ALL Guns
4. Continue to allow pistol permit holder's information to be replaced to the public
5. Label semiautomatic shotguns with more than 5 rounds or pistol grips as "assault weapons”
6. Limit the number of rounds in a magazine to 5 and confiscation and forfeiture of banned magazines
7. Limit possession to no more than two (2) magazines
8. Limit purchase of guns to one gun per person per month
9. Require re-licensing of all pistol permit owners
10. Require renewal of all pistol permits every five years
11. State issued pistol permits 12. Micro-stamping of all guns in New York State
12. Require licensing of all gun ammo dealers
13. Mandatory locking of guns at home
14. Fee for licensing, registering weapons
